Things Can Still Swing RIGHT in This Election

The Lord has shown me in three different dreams in the last 2 months that our state (Virginia) is a key swing state in the upcoming election – not just politically, but spiritually.  We have swung to the LEFT and if we don’t get back in line with God’s ways of doing things, we will be bearing the consequences for years to come.  God is calling us to prayer AND ACTION.

I appeal to my Christian brothers and sisters to take a stand for biblical values and VOTE to make a difference, and not just in Virginia.  Elections are not just for the politically minded – they have huge spiritual and eternal consequences for everyone. Though we know that our ultimate hope and redemption is in the Lord, the people that WE vote for (or DON’T!) have HUGE implications on us as WE WILL REAP what THEY sow.

“When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan.” (Proverbs 29:2)

We can’t bury our heads in the sand and leave it to the few “activists” who keep up with the news. This is exactly how we got into the mess we’re living with right now. The candidates that God will bless are those who oppose abortion and same-sex marriage – period. This is not about political parties or platforms. These specific two issues are not “platforms” – they are BIBLICAL COMMANDS.

In addition to these commands, we must look at the character, integrity and lifestyle of the candidates. God looks at the heart and so must we. If you call yourself a Christ-follower, I urge you to consider the ramifications of your vote and what God says about our choices. To disregard them will open up (even more!) curses upon our state and this nation. There’s no perfect candidate.  There never has been and there never will be.  If there were, we would look to them instead of to God.  So, how do we vote?

Consider these Scriptures to clear up any doubts:

“A nation will prosper when its ruler is mature, and its leaders don’t party too much.” Ecclesiastes. 10:17 (Contemporary English Version)

“Therefore, you kings, be wise, be warned, you rulers of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear and celebrate His rule with trembling.” (Psalm 2:10, 11)

A leader who walks in the FEAR OF THE LORD will bring blessing and wisdom upon those they serve.  God blesses leaders who honor HIM and His Word, not a political party or man-made agenda.

“Good leaders abhor wrongdoing of all kinds; sound leadership has a moral foundation.” Proverbs 16:12 (The Message Translation)

Biblical morality is the biggest determining factor in any nation’s success. Our government will not and cannot succeed apart from laws based on God’s Word. The bottom line is that God blesses leaders – and their given sphere of authority – when they obey the Word of God. Even if some of their ideas don’t agree with ours, when a leader puts God first and does things HIS way, blessings WILL COME to the people! It is one of God’s laws of creation in that He will honor those who honor Him. Regardless of challenges or weaknesses, God’s favor will rest on a city, state and nation when the RIGHTEOUS rule.

“And if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of the Lord your God. (Deuteronomy 28:1, 2)

WE STILL HAVE TIME to change things! If we encourage each other to go vote BIBLICAL VALUES tomorrow, we can still choose LIFE and BLESSING for our state – and nation.
