The other night a messenger came to me in a dream and spoke, “…they are attracted to holiness”. I knew he was speaking of the angels. He was telling me that the angels are attracted to holiness. Why was God telling me this? I believe it’s because many are in need of heaven’s help to overcome the many trials, troubles and FEARS that are assaulting us. We need to know how to attract heaven!
In Isaiah 6:3-4 we see the angels standing before God’s throne and they are crying out to one another, “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” The angels are in awe of God’s holiness and it says that “…at the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.”
Angels were created and designed to proclaim the holiness of God. When they come before God’s holiness, they can’t stop declaring it to one another. The seraphim and cherubim even cover their faces and feet and fall down before Him as they are so taken by God’s holiness. They are not just some mindless robots taking orders, but living creatures able to feel and respond to God’s presence, just like us (Luke 2:13, James 2:19, Revelation 12:17).
The angels are attracted to God’s holiness because it is HOLINESS that separates Him from all other beings. It’s what makes Him distinct from everything else; it is the essence of His transcendence. This is why He invites us to BE HOLY as He is holy. He knows that when we walk in holiness, HEAVEN WILL BE ATTRACTED TO US.
“He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David…to rescue us from the hand of our enemies, and to enable us to serve him without fear in holiness and righteousness before him all our days.” (Luke 1:69, 74-75)
“But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation. (Colossians 1:22)
There is a correlation between HOLINESS and BEING FREE FROM FEAR and ACCUSATION. Psalm 91 promises that as we DWELL in His presence we can be kept safe from harm and free from fear. He has given us access into the holy place knowing that THIS is the place where the enemy can’t touch us.
We’ve been taught to quote Scriptures and worship in order to break free from the enemy’s assault. But, how many times have we considered the power of God’s holiness? Do we realize the ability of God’s holiness – in US – to shield and protect us; to draw angelic forces to our aid?
If you need help to overcome trials and especially fears of any kind, pursue His presence and GAZE upon His HOLINESS. We become holy, not by DOING things or trying to be better, but by fixing our eyes on Him and partaking of His divine nature. The more we dwell with Him, the more we become like Him and become holy.
Pursue this kind of relationship and seek this kind of walk. Even the angels won’t be able to resist you.
