Are you in a battle for your promises? Does it feel like you’re hitting walls wherever you turn and your previous momentum has been blocked? Do you feel as though your faith has suddenly left the room and you’re now standing in dismay and bewilderment as to what just happened?
As I talk with various intercessors and consider my own circumstances right now, I’m seeing a pattern. Because of the spiritual gates that have been opened over this nation allowing lawlessness and godlessness to enter, many are feeling the impact on a very personal level. The turmoil and chaos that has been unleashed is being felt and is causing many of us to doubt our prophetic promises. However, I want to encourage you in your faith because the spiritual activity of the enemy swirling around us is simply a smoke screen designed to make us question God’s Word over our lives.
The truth is – God is about to MANIFEST those promises and the devil is mad about it.
One of the biggest weapons the enemy is using right now is FEAR. Remember that the only power the devil has is the power we give his lies. The Spirit of Fear permeating our land is affecting everyone. However, it will manifest differently on each person according to your own personal vulnerability. Whatever area you have struggled with in the past, the enemy will take advantage of it and cause you to doubt God’s love, care, provision, and protection over your life. For some, you will be hit with sickness (again!) that tries to take you out. For others, the enemy will try to drain you financially to rob your provision. For still others, you will wonder if you heard God’s voice correctly about your future. Whatever truth you have contended for in your life, the enemy is going after to try and dismantle your faith and hope. Just as the Israelites had to make the choice to BELIEVE before they could enter their Promised Land, so we must hold on and contend for our faith so we can receive our inheritance (Hebrews 3:19).
Regardless of the issues you struggle with, everyone will be asking the same question, “…what if…?” It’s the same tactic the devil used in the Garden of Eden tempting Eve to doubt God’s Word. “What if….God didn’t really say this?” His goal is to make us question what God’s will and purpose is over our lives. DON’T BUY IT!! It’s only a distraction! Whatever battle you are facing right now is simply an indication that your promises are about to break through!
The best thing we can do right now is to THANK and PRAISE God for WHO HE IS and what He has said!
The story that has come to mind recently is Jehoshaphat leading his army into battle against an enemy that far outnumbered them. He sent out the worshipers first and it was their praises that scattered and defeated the enemy.
After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying: “Give thanks to the Lord, for his love endures forever.” As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated. (2 Chronicles 20:21-22)
The promise of God that will defeat every enemy in our lives is that HIS LOVE ENDURES FOREVER! HE IS GOOD! Don’t let your circumstances dictate your faith. Don’t let the powers of the air suck you into their suffocating “atmos-FEAR”. Rather, declare God’s promises over your life and remind yourself – out loud – who God IS, who WAS, and who WILL ALWAYS BE. He is your greatest Defender, Shield, Provider, Healer, Redeemer, and Faithful Father.
Now is the time to start each day reciting the goodness of God and the absolute assurance that He WILL DO what He says and WILL ALWAYS back up those who fear His name and walk in His truth.
Even as the hostile atmosphere in this nation is seemingly overtaking us, we can be assured that the praises of the Most High God are much more powerful and able to defeat our real enemy. Let’s each do our part by reminding ourselves that we do not live by what we see or hear, but by the Word of the Lord and power of His might. We live by faith and not by sight. We are His children about to receive an inheritance that cannot be bought or measured. It is ours for the taking and the enemy cannot have it!
Let God arise and His enemies be scattered! Rise up, O saint of God, and let your praises be heard. Declare out loud His goodness and His mercy that never ends. Let the principalities and rulers of this age know who HE is and who YOU ARE. We are about to enter in to our Promised Land and nothing can stop us if we persevere together.
