We shouldn’t be fighting a spiritual battle in order to get something. We fight in order to keep something. The question is – do you know what you already HAVE?
We are so used to using our energy to fix our problems we have forgotten the joy of dreaming and bringing new life to things. Yet, this is what we were created for. To bring life, build, create, think of new possibilities, being one with The Creator. His first nature was not to fix, but to create – to dream. This is how it all began…through Creation. Out of love for us, He dreamt of the possibilities and created this world for us.
He spent six days creating, imagining, building, fixing His attention on who He was going to put there. He took His time, carefully designing and forming each and every detail, motivated by the sheer delight of sharing it with us. When He created “man in His own image”, He knew our first instinct would be to dream – like Him. His first assignment to Adam was to name all the animals – to share in the creative aspect of his Father. It was His joy to have a partner with which to dream and call forth that which was yet unseen. It is still His joy to walk and talk with us about NEW POSSIBILITIES and NEW DREAMS. He is the consummate DREAMER and He loves our dreams. His desire is to breathe life into our dreams and see us share in that joy.
The only problem is that on the way to our dreams, the devil gets in the way.
This is why the heavens war – to KEEP that which God created for us. They do not fight to get something, but to keep something. And, we should do the same.
God wants us to rediscover the joy of dreaming, of creating, of building a place of His presence. He created this world as a habitation for us to walk and talk with Him. He longs for us to know this aspect of His nature in using our imaginations as channels of His love, His creativity, and His beauty.
In these last two months, our family moved to a new country home after eighteen years in the city. Doubling our space and being in the country has been incredible. I have been rediscovering the joy of creating a place of beauty and peace for friends and family to come and enjoy. When I was tempted to feel guilty for spending so much time in the creative aspect this morning, I sensed Him chuckle, commenting that this is exactly what He did when He created the world. He was creating a space for us – thinking of us every day when He took the time to carve out the rivers and oceans, forming every creature and shaping every plant – just for our enjoyment. It was to be a place of habitation – a place of fellowship – and a place of absolute delight. And it was His JOY.
He wanted this joy to be ours; to share in this creative aspect of His nature and dream. The only problem was that the enemy got involved and we lost our focus. We have forgotten the original blueprint and design. We have forgotten our destiny to dream like our Dad. He wants to remind us of what we were given at the very beginning and start walking in that reality again.
The devil wants to keep you distracted with problems and obstacles. The more chaos he can create, the better. His strategy is always the same – to make us forget who we are and what we already have. The Father wants you to get in touch with the dreams He’s placed inside of you. They are already there – they just get lost in the battle.
Don’t let the enemy’s distractions keep you from your dreams. Use the voice God has given you to bring order to your world and all that is in it. Begin to call forth life and all good things. This is your design, your divine imprint, your purpose, and your right. Your home, your property, your community, your city; all are destined to be habitations of His Presence. YOU are the one who brings it to life through your sanctified imagination and God-given gifts.
You do not have to wait. The Garden is here and now. New life is on the inside of you and you were designed to call it forth. Know that which you already have and when the devil gets in the way simply resist him. You don’t have to fight to get anything. You’ve already been given a dream from your Father. You are an heir of creation. Claim it and walk in it. Your battle will be to keep it.
LORD, you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance. (Psalm 16:5-6, NIV)
Thank you Sister Wanda for such a timely word of encouragement. When you have been in the “desert ” for a long time, an OASIS like Crossroads Community Church is such a blessing. I want to say, You and Bobby are a GOD sent to us. Love you both, in Christ, Ben & Beryl Smith
