A Divisive President? Maybe that’s a GOOD thing…

There are many today who are calling our President a divisive president. They claim he is the cause of all this division in the land and especially in Congress. The increased divide between the Left and the Right, the Republicans and Democrats, the Whites and Blacks, and the Christians and Non-Christians, is getting bigger by the day. At a time when “unity” is the presumed goal, it would appear this president is bringing out everything that truly divides us.
And yet, is unity the ultimate goal? Especially for those with an understanding of the coming kingdom of heaven, is this what God is attempting to do in the earth right now? Perhaps instead of defining unity by our own standards or presuming upon His intentions, we need to look at what Jesus said when He came to earth the first time.
Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division (Luke 12:51 ESV).
Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword…Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it (Matthew 10:34-39 NIV).
Jesus loved all mankind and He reached out to anyone who truly sought Him. He gave his life so that every human being would have the opportunity for eternal life. Even so, He was very clear that there was a dividing line – a separation – between those who were pure of heart and those who were counterfeits.
This is not only personal, but national. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats (Matthew 25:32 NIV). Scripture is very clear that though mercy is extended for a time, not all will choose Him. Not all will follow Him, and some will even pretend to do so in order to deceive others. Only God knows the heart, but this is not simply a division between those who claim to be Christians and those who do not. This is not a division of party, race, color, or creed. It is a division of the heart.
The fact is, division is happening. And, it’s a GOOD THING!  Even in the halls of justice, God has established a plumb line that will not tolerate sin, disobedience, and lawlessness. I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the plumb line; hail will sweep away your refuge, the lie, and water will overflow your hiding place. Your covenant with death will be annulled; your agreement with the grave will not stand (Isaiah 28:17-18 NIV).
What was written in our Constitution and national laws has always carried a reverence for God and adherence to biblical standards. God is now calling many out on their hypocrisy. He is shining His light on those who have carried deceit in their hearts, pretending to be someone they are not. He is the One cleaning the swamp of godless government and leadership in order to prepare the way for His coming reign.
What President Donald Trump is doing is, indeed, drawing out everything that divides us. But, this is not a division between one another. It’s a dividing line between those who walk in the fear of the Lord and those who don’t. Even for those who do not profess Christ, there are many who, even now, are being stirred by the Spirit to surrender their hearts to the Lord Jesus. Many carry within their hearts a God-consciousness and a fear of the Lord that has drawn heaven’s attention. Only God knows men’s hearts and He is providing the opportunities for all to make their final choice. The time of wavering between two opinions is over.
Yes, there is a dividing line, but it is not coming from this President. It is coming from the Lord Most High who is drawing the line. He is calling out those who truly seek Him with a pure heart and clean hands and separating them from those who don’t. President Trump probably doesn’t even realize all that God is doing through him, but his decisions and renderings are fueling this division that MUST take place in order to clear the way for the kingdom of heaven to come upon this nation. It is not about the finer points of these orders and decisions, but rather the heart motivation to do what is right in the eyes of the Lord that is drawing the blessing.

But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children – with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts (Psalm 103:17 NIV).

We can thank God for the leaders He is bringing forth, both on the national scene and also within the Church itself that are calling people to a righteous standard. There IS a cost. Just as Scripture indicates, households will be divided, churches will be divided, and nations will be divided. Even so, it is a division that must happen in order for the purity and power of His kingdom to be established. It is those who are called out as His true sheep that will carry on the work He has destined for this hour.
For those who carry great mercy in their hearts for the sinner and the lost, this may be challenging. They are being tested in their ability to see past their compassion in order to embrace the righteousness and holiness of God that is required to see God (Matthew 5:8). True mercy does not simply empathize with others. It calls others higher. True Mercy is fueled by a passionate love that sees the glory of God revealed only to those who lay down their lives and surrender their will for His. Mercy IS calling out, but it’s cry is to look beyond the hardship of the moment and go higher in the fear of the Lord and the power of His might to render lasting justice.
This is a time of division. But, it is unto something much greater. As each one makes their choice, heaven will draw ever closer as true unity and oneness of the Spirit emerges. The Bride of Christ is making Herself ready and She is going to be beautiful.
Then all your people will be righteous and they will possess the land forever. They are the shoot I have planted, the work of my hands, for the display of my splendor (Isaiah 60:21 NIV).

  3. Amen, God IS calling us to be set apart, sometimes some may think your alittle too fanatic for the Lord, but why not. He sacrificed so much for us, why shouldn’t we? Is it lonely sometimes? Yes, but it’s worth it! I want to do God’s will, not mine. So we need to persevere, love and reverence the Lord!

  4. I totally agree. Glad God has given you a platform to share. Do not shrink back, but be courageous. God bless.

  5. Dear Wanda
