Experiencing fatigue and feeling weary in well-doing? Are you struggling to stay motivated and looking for a breakthrough?
The Lord says to PERSEVERE! All you need is a LITTLE FAITH and the willingness to NOT QUIT.
Those who are sensitive to the spiritual realm have been feeling a “swirl” in the air – a feeling of detachment and disorientation. There is a struggle to stay focused and full of faith. For those who have been praying and interceding for breakthroughs, maybe it’s getting hard to stay upbeat and hopeful. Even so, our decision to not quit and simply stand firm, may be the very key to our breakthrough.
In listening to a recent podcast by Kris Vallotton, I was inspired by a revelation he shared. When Jesus told His disciples that they had “little faith” (Matthew 17:20-21), He wasn’t speaking about HOW MUCH faith they had. He was referring to the KIND of faith they had. It’s not about the QUANTITY, but the QUALITY. That word “little” actually means “brief.” He was referring to their faith that seemed only good for a moment and then faded. He was challenging them to HOLD ON and not give up!
In Ephesians 6:13 we are told, “…having DONE ALL, to STAND FIRM.” That means that when we have done everything we know…more than once…we are to simply stand. That word “stand” means “to stop, to stand still, immovable, one who does not waver.” In other words, you may not have much energy, you may be tired and weary, but if you simply choose to STAY THE COURSE and NOT QUIT – YOU WIN!!!
In 1 Corinthians 13:7, we are told that “…love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” Notice the progression. Maybe you’ve born a lot in your spirit, praying without ceasing. Maybe at one time you were full of faith and had great hope for the future. But if you have come to the point where you may not feel like you can BEAR any more, BELIEVE any more, or even HOPE any more – this is the time to ENDURE. Love endures ALL things because Love NEVER FAILS!
In Luke 18:2 we are told of the unjust judge who “…neither feared God nor respected man.” Doesn’t this sound like a lot of people today? Especially those on the national scene who are making critical decisions for our nation – many of them do not fear God and they do not respect Christians. At a time when so many are praying and asking God to intervene, it is easy to grow weary and wonder if anyone is listening! And yet – this persistent widow WOULDN’T BACK DOWN. Her stubborn faith is what finally wore that judge out. IT’S TIME TO WEAR THE ENEMY OUT! Now is NOT the time to quit.
Our resolve to STAND FIRM in our LITTLE FAITH has power to BREAK THROUGH.
Even at the end of that story, Jesus asks, “…when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on earth?” Perhaps this is the key He is looking for in receiving our inheritance, both personally and corporately. It is not simply the power of our prayers, but the KIND OF FAITH that is fueling those prayers. It is the enduring faith of a son or daughter of the Most High God who WILL NOT WAVER because of our relentless belief that He is good and He is always faithful to His Word.
It’s time to be stubborn in our faith, persistent in our prayers, and relentless in our pursuit. It doesn’t depend on our feelings or perceptions. Our faith rests not in our circumstances or other people. Our faith rests in The One who’s word always stands and who’s purposes always prevail – if we simply don’t quit.
