I HEAR THE CRIES OF THE ANCIENTS, the saints of old who are a part of the cloud of witnesses to this day. I am awakened in the night by their cries and my spirit weeps. Throughout the night my spirit is overcome with weeping and a deep grief within for the lost ones. I know it is not my own grief, yet I sense the invitation to embrace this call to join with the ancients of old who are watching and interceding for the promise of The Father to be fulfilled.
I inquire of the Lord as to why they weep and He says they cry for the sons and daughters. Just as the prophets of old wept for the children of Israel who forsook their God, so are the fathers and mothers now weeping for the sons and daughters who have forgotten the ancient paths and mingled with Babylon. There is weeping in the night for those who have forgotten the hope for which they were born and the purpose for which they were created.
The cry of The Father has always been the same – “Come out! Be holy, for I am holy!” This is not the cry of anger or regret, but the cry of One who has made the way for His offspring and already paid the price for their freedom. It is the cry of despair over a generation that has compromised His holiness, thus opening the door for Depravity, Depression, and Death.
This is the cry of REPENTANCE and this repentance is UNTO HOLINESS. It is the ONE THING that sets God’s people apart from all others. It is the ONE THING that guarantees freedom from all oppression and onslaught. It is only through holiness that we are untouchable by any enemy or any force of evil. It is only through holiness that we can see God and access the power of His throne. It is the very essence we share with our Father and makes us His – we are to be holy, for HE IS HOLY.
Heaven is weeping FOR LOVE. It is the Father’s love that calls His sons and daughters to forsake the ways of Babylon and set themselves apart, for HE KNOWS the POWER OF HOLINESS to utterly defeat the enemy and inherit our promise.
Join with the cloud of witnesses and cry out for the children of God to set themselves apart so as to display the SPLENDOR OF HIS HOLINESS. “I will show the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, the name you have profaned among them. Then the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Sovereign Lord, when I am proved holy through you before their eyes” (Ezekiel 36:21).
