What we are seeing in the current impeachment hearings against our President are a mockery of good government. The rules created by those in charge have not only handicapped due process, but have silenced any other narrative but their own.
We need to wake up to our responsibility as believers in showing the world what government is SUPPOSED to look like. Government was God’s idea, not man’s. For those who believe we have no place in governmental affairs, I would remind you that we’ve been given TWO commissions, not just one.
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:18-20 ESV)
We talk about the Great Commission which Jesus gave His disciples to preach the Kingdom of God and bring the lost to salvation. But, there is an earlier mandate that God gave us which must be accomplished first if we are to fulfill the second. From the very beginning of creation, God told man:
“Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” (Genesis 1:28).
Our very first mandate was to RULE and STEWARD His creation. We were told to influence, impact, and properly govern everything He made. We were created to demonstrate God’s righteous rule on the earth. WE were the ones assigned with the task of good government. How are we doing?
I would suggest that, until we fulfill His FIRST commission and properly govern ourselves and that which He has entrusted to us, we will not accomplish His SECOND commission. We may preach the gospel and bring in some harvest, but how can we disciple nations if we don’t know how to disciple ourselves? How can we have authority on the earth if we’ve yielded it to our adversaries by default? How are we supposed to win the world if we can’t win our case? Until we have learned how to govern well, take responsibility for our nation, and disciple ourselves towards maturity, we will have limited impact and limited authority to see anything change.
Good government has nothing to do with politics. It has everything to do with stewardship and modeling righteous rule from the inside out. It’s time for the Church to rise up as the governing Ekklesia on the earth and demonstrate what God had in mind all along.
“To bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things, so that through the church (“ekklesia”) the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 3:9-10)

A Knockout!
But one of the setbacks that many believers find is they are untrained to deal with politics of the day?
Some of the issues:
1. Fear
2. Not taking the steps to be informed.
3. Not understanding the scriptural directive (which Wanda has covered so well)
4. Not understanding the times we live in.
5. Lack of leaders in the Body of Christ (which can change) who are blowing a clear trumpet call.
Blessings

I have to agree with you Wanda; Sadly, for too long, when I mention politics to so many of my Christian friends, I’m basically poo pooed away. I have also been told that it’s “Not our concern”. Well, I’ve always said it is. Thank you for putting out the Word,Natasha VidanTalyaShofarSound@aol.com
Totally agree
I live in Western Australia and God’s word applies to us as well.

I believe that this can only be done on the basis of the five-fold ministries in Ephesians 4, see in particular verse 13. For fuller detail in this regard, see my books on the five-fold way of living. Blessings to you and yours.
