CARNAL MERCY IS MASQUERADING AS TRUTH

In recent weeks, it appears that every pain and unresolved issue we have faced as a nation has come to the surface and is festering as an open wound. People are hurting, some are dying, and many are seeking justice. Where the “woke” see the underlying political agendas at work in both COVID and the rioting, others are fixed on championing the victims. Rather than questioning the media or checking all the facts, many mercy-minded souls are simply calling for love. And yet, if we don’t uphold God’s righteousness and truth while extending mercy, we’re going to love people right into hell.

And His mercy is for those who fear Him from generation to generation. (Luke 1:50)

Heaven’s mercy will always reflect the fear of the Lord and compel others to walk in righteousness and truth. Even as many are seeking to bring comfort to the hurting and calling for justice in the streets, there is a carnal mercy that is masquerading as truth. By putting the Golden Rule above God’s laws, we are leading people into a dead end with no way out. Whether it’s calls for protecting the population or giving license to the lost, we must know the difference between unsanctified mercy that is fueled by our flesh and our fears, and sanctified mercy which is born of the Spirit.

Unsanctified mercy is stuck in the human condition with a need for retribution. Sanctified mercy pulls people out of the lies and counterfeits, and points them to freedom of a higher order (1 Tim 1:13-14).

Unsanctified mercy is seeded through second-hand offense and unresolved pain. Sanctified mercy flows when forgiveness is extended, and blame is cancelled (2 Cor 4:1-2).

Unsanctified mercy is overcome with empathy for the hurting. Sanctified mercy is overwhelmed by the power of the cross (Titus 2:11-14).

Yes, we must love unconditionally and do all we can to show mercy and kindness to the weak and disenfranchised. But we must do so in the fear of the Lord. We cannot give away free love at the cost of our souls. The promises of heaven cannot be traded for the appeasement of the flesh. Mercy may be given freely as an expression of love, but it’s Truth that ultimately sets us free.

  1. Great message and video. The comments in video were turned off. You’re right we need a catch cry to rally the church!
    In God we trust!
    The saints are marching!
Arise shine for Jesus is coming!
    Heal the division!
This light of mine, I’m going to let it shine!
Stand up stand up for Jesus!

Any way we’re praying for you all in America and are so proud of the courage we see shining thru!

  2. This is the daily walk for Christians who are also like the woman caught in the act adultery punishable by death, have been forgiven, with the caveat of ‘sin no more’.

Whether a left wing protester or a born again Christian, we all sin causing offence to God, man or both. Heb 10:26-31

Therefore with forgiveness comes correction, and then a personal responsibility to walk in accordance to God’s Laws and God’s Love. Jesus manifested that love on earth in his physical life, hence Jesus saying, “Love one another as I have loved you”

Remember, Jesus upheld ‘Two Great Commandments’; Love God and love your neighbour, thus the ‘Golden Rule’.

At the end of the day, we are still the enemies of God, capable of betraying Him, even unwittingly as is often the case.

We have not attained the position of God’s true sons and daughters. Mt 5:48.

Rom 8:19 “For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God; 20 for the creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will but by the will of him who subjected it in hope; 21 because the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and obtain the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning in travail together until now; 23 and not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies”.

I believe the real issue now is what are Christians going to model as a witness to Jesus Christ and God’s Kingdom, and what are they going to do having been saved themselves, about saving their nation.

Jesus called for the unity of his believers, that they would be one. That would be a good place to start. Jn 17:20-26

Christian leaders must now come together, obey Jesus’ words, and stop ‘dragging their feet’ like the Israelites in the Wilderness, disobeying Moses.

  3. Amen!
