WE ARE IN A WAR ZONE – AND WHY IT MATTERS

As I was praying for the many people who are still doubting the need for justice concerning our recent election or the false narratives being perpetuated on mainstream media, I heard this phrase from Holy Spirit, “They don’t know what time it is.”

I didn’t think of a clock, but I could see a map of the US with different TIME ZONES. Depending on the time zone you are in, you will read the clock differently. I knew the Lord was saying that not everyone is in the same “time zone.” Not everyone is “reading” the signs of the times in the same way. Then I heard “war zone,” and He began to speak to me about what it means to be in a time of war versus a time of peace. He also reminded me that He himself is a “man of war.”

The LORD goes out like a mighty man, like a man of war He stirs up His zeal; He cries out, He shouts aloud, He shows Himself mighty against His foes. For a long time I have held my peace; I have kept still and restrained myself; now I will cry out like a woman in labor. (Isaiah 42:13-14)

The LORD is a man of war; the LORD is His name. (Exodus 15:3)

I quickly realized that though we Americans don’t see tanks on the streets, we are most certainly in a time of war. Because the weapons are unconventional and largely out of sight, we don’t realize the implications of what is taking place. Not only is there chaos at every turn, there have been untold casualties in this war. Ever since the lockdowns began last year, countless people have been dying from man-made tools of war, inciting terror in the hearts of citizens everywhere. If we understand that we are in a war zone, our perceptions of reality and subsequent responses to the crises will vastly differ from those who don’t. More importantly, we cannot say we are in a time of peace when God says we are in a time of war. We cannot simply go on with life as usual when forces of darkness are literally trying to kill us.

Precisely because they have misled my people, saying, ‘Peace,’ when there is no peace, and because, when the people build a wall, these prophets smear it with whitewash, say to those who smear it with whitewash that it shall fall! (Ezekiel 13:10) See also Micah 3:5

Reminded of His attitude towards wickedness and readiness for war with His enemies, I began to search scriptures and ponder this aspect of God’s nature. As peace-loving citizens of a higher Kingdom, we don’t often consider what it means to burn with holy anger or righteous indignation. And yet, if we don’t understand or embrace this aspect of God’s PASSION for His people, I believe our CAPACITY FOR TRUTH WILL BE LIMITED. If we cannot fathom His actions towards those who openly defy His laws, we will be unable to see what’s right in front of our eyes. (Additional scriptures referencing God’s perspective on war: Deuteronomy 32:39-43, Jeremiah, 51:20-23, Hosea 10:13-14, Jeremiah 46:10, Ezekiel 7:10-12, Job 5:11-15, Isaiah 36:5, Joel 3:9-10)

I am certainly not advocating violence or outright “war” with our friends and neighbors! I am not advocating raucous demonstrations to stir up the masses. Rather, I am looking at our perceptions, beliefs, and values as followers of Christ. I believe we need a greater revelation of His holy anger towards the works of darkness. We need a God-given burning indignation against the plots and schemes that are in place to absolutely destroy and obliterate our nation. Though the message of the cross will continue to thrive and expand regardless of persecution (thank God!), the threats against our freedom and our nation’s destiny is at stake. Rather than embracing this persecution as God’s will, I contend that His invitation at THIS TIME is to take a stand for righteousness to overturn these plots and schemes against our freedom. But, I also believe we can do so while maintaining a pure heart and witness. I believe we can confront the enemies of the cross while demonstrating extreme love.

Again, He entered the synagogue, and a man was there with a withered hand. And they watched Jesus, to see whether He would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse Him. And He said to the man with the withered hand, “Come here.” And He said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent. And He looked around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, and said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was restored. (Mark 3:1-5)

This story is being played out before our eyes as political authorities are entering churches across the globe to shut down our worship to God. Looking to accuse us of foul play, I believe Jesus’ response would be the same today as it was back then – we must serve God rather than men. We cannot allow the hardness of men’s hearts or political spirits to stop us from doing good and bringing life to those around us.

Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. (Romans 12:9)

To “abhor” something is to “have a horror of; to detest.” The question is – do we recognize what’s truly evil? Are we rightly discerning the forces at work behind the scenes that are openly defying God? Do we recognize that though God is merciful and compassion, He also burns with holy anger against rebellion and sin?

He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on His head; He put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and wrapped Himself in zeal as a cloak. According to their deeds, so will He repay, wrath to His adversaries, repayment to His enemies; to the coastlands He will render repayment. (Isaiah 59:17-20)

If we can embrace this aspect of God’s nature as a demonstration of His extreme love for His creation, we are then able to consider redemptive actions we can take to defeat these wicked plans. As foundational as our prayers and prophetic proclamations are, it is time to step out of our prayer closets and worship services to engage with our communities at strategic levels. We are citizens of heaven, but we are also citizens here on the earth. God gave us this planet to steward. He invites us to influence, impact, and transform lives and lands around us to show others the glory of His Kingdom. We may be looking forward to “going up,” but He desperately wants to “come down” so that the knowledge of His glory will cover and permeate every living thing – including our cities.

God wants to give us an extreme love for our communities – just as many feel a love for this nation. Beyond feeding the homeless and evangelizing in the streets, I believe God is raising up Kingdom champions who will sit at city gates. He is calling forth men and women to use their God-given gifts to forge new paths and pioneer Kingdom initiatives that will bless an entire city. If we can catch His heart for the people directly around us, I believe we will grow in the fierce love HE has for them. We will understand His righteous indignation when the rights and freedoms of the people we love and care about are threatened. In this current war, our best strategy is to see the “long game.” We are not just seeking deliverance from evil forces – we must prepare to fill in the gaps and displace those wicked rulers long-term.

Thus says the Lord: Do justice and righteousness and deliver from the hand of the oppressor him who has been robbed. (Jeremiah 22:3)

Ultimately, we are only passing through this time of war to get to God’s peace! “Of the increase of His government and of peace there will be no end!” (Isaiah 9:7) The length of this war, however, may not be determined by some pre-ordained time of “rescue,” but by the people of God taking their place as sons and daughters who have learned to rule in the midst of their enemies.

  1. This such a Good and Timely Word Wanda! Yes, we need to “Take on” the Nature and Emotions of God at this Time! And He is fed up.. of course we must Do Justice and Love Mercy.. But now we have to absorb the Stance and Ferver of the Lord in this Battle.. to WIN..
Boldly Praying and Speaking the Truth in Love!👏🙌

  2. When God first had me start praying, it was due to the results in November. I began to see the nature of the war that was being fought. As I started praying, I was getting sermons at church about reaching out to my neighbor. We were praying prayers about loving people different than us. I wanted to scream. I felt like my proverbial house was burning down and I was being encouraged to have a picnic on the front lawn with my neighbor. So, it led me on a search for “firefighters”. Basically, I felt like my feelings that we were in a war was me being crazy in the head. I didn’t know anyone who was feeling as I was. I have found some in person, and a lot more online. I’m not sure what to do now. I genuinely love the people in my church, but as far as what I hear from the front, nothing has changed. We may as well be in 2010. I can’t just have this Pollyanna attitude right now that “we’ll get them next time” as I watch government leaders try to burn the foundations. So, I pray.

  3. Monday May 3rd when I woke up, In the spirit I heard airplanes like in war when fighter jets scramble at a threat. Yesterday I kept hearing activity. Much movement and talking. It was not close to me so I did not hear words. God is busy working His plan, that is for sure.
Appreciate you. Thanks for what you share.

  4. Yes! Something I heard the Lord say to me during my prayer room time. “It’s time for the Man of War! “

  5. Each of us has heard some person say at some time in our lives: “Just sweep it under the rug” and then they would laugh. I Never found that funny at all. It just somehow “rubbed me the wrong way.”
As late as the hour is in the United States of America—we are actually still having multitudes of people who have the “sweep it under the rug” mentality…..THE HOUR IS VERY LATE—and the Survival of this nation Depends on people who will FACE THE TRUTH ABOUT THEMSELVES AND THEIR ATTITUDES….
What Almighty GOD says HE MEANS!!!!! Sitting on the wall as a “wall flower” is a BLIND DECEPTION. There is a HIGH PRICE TO PAY FOR NOT STANDING UP FOR THE NATION THAT HAS GIVEN YOU LIVE, LIBERTY, AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS.
America is “under siege” from the powers of darkness…..YOU HAVE TO GET INTO THE BATTLE FOR OUR NATION, IF YOU WANT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY TO HAVE A FUTURE….
We have to go low before we can go high….WE MUST HUMBLE OURSELVES BEFORE THE ONE TRUE GOD—CREATOR AND RULER OF THE UNIVERSE. When we do this, HE WILL SPEAK TO EACH OF US AND GUIDE OUR THOUGHTS AND OUR ACTIONS—AND OUR OUTCOMES….
Thank You, Wanda, for this POWERFUL MESSAGE.

  6. Thank you Wanda for your strong word. I am a 🇿🇦 living in 🇳🇿. I support your voice to America. The American church has not understood the times & got the people ready. In SA Satan’s troops have called a commune with your ancestral spirits day on 8 May. Wake up universal church & fight against Satan’s plans. We are all under attack & we unite our hearts & voices with Christian battalions around the world.

  7. It seems to me were battling mystery babylon but what can you do? If your going to war you need a long term strategy and you need to work on the logistics. HR5 is the equality act, prohibits biological distinctions, denies religion based objections. Churches lose tax exemption status and schools lose accreditation. Also the government will mandate school courses on systemic racism, white privilege, christian privilege, transgenderism, transhumanism, scientism and immigrant inclusion to indoctrinate the youth. If there is a collapse the churches will be overrun and bankrupted. The churches need a strategy to go underground or at least move to a safe haven.

  8. Yes indeed Wanda! Your words are so pure, so true, so from the holy centre of the Lord’s counsel for this time. Just so utterly beautiful, Spirit shaped and blessed. Things from Heaven are perfect! Even though the words were concerning war, they were as gentle refreshing dew to my spirit and soul, and would be to any Christian in tune with the Lord’s heart at this time. It IS a time of war and the war is still in progress – and EVERYTHING is worth it to achieve and to enjoy the fruits of victory. That is what war demands. It demands persistence unto victory. Defeat cannot be tolerated, least of all when the combatants are as they are, and the issue – the very survival of your nation as a force for good in God’s hand, indeed as an object of His special heart jealousy, is what it is. The loser often looks like they will be the winner when the war commences, but as the WAR EFFORT of the side that has taken the initial hits gets into swing the tables are often turned and the outcome is very different from the initial stage. Today is your nation’s national day of prayer, and here in Sydney Australia I was stirred in spirit in relation to the US to call upon the Lord to GIVE EXPRESSION to that side of Him that is the Man of War. IT WAS TREMENDOUS! His very NAME, with all that is attached to it, is at stake. On that basis I was emboldened to urge Him to GET INVOLVED HIMSELF as a MIGHTY MAN OF WAR in dealing with His adversaries, both spiritual and human. The very same words from Scripture came to mind as I prayed. It was terrifically encouraging – I could tell He was so into it, and as it were just waiting for me to throw off the enemy’s fog of defeatism and call in and upon the REALITY OF HIS BIG GUNS! That was entirely independent of seeing and hearing your words, which I only saw when I came home from work. It’s so encouraging that those who know what time it is are coming together as a corporate spiritual force world wide and as such are committed TO STAY IN THE FIGHT. Deborah comes to mind – a Mother in Israel.

  9. Thank you for this most recent post on the Man of War. The Holy Spirit spoke to me quite some time ago about learning to love and appreciate God’s justice as much as His mercy. That is quite a challenge, for we all love His mercy. He warned me that if I did not embrace His justice that I would be offended by Him when He executed it. That definitely got my attention.

  10. Agreed! It definitely makes a difference in the way we view the situation. A verse I’ve been claiming in my spiritual weaponry of late is Isaiah 54:17 “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.” I pray that these weapons would be turned back upon the heads if the evil perpetrators. When you realize that these various aspects of the current situation (Covid lockdowns, constitutional and religious restrictions, Covid virus, Injections, etc) are all bioweapons and aspects of bio and spiritual-warfare that are being deployed against us such verses become even more weighty and significant. Are tongues rising against us in judgment? they are when and where they are speaking against our constitution and religious liberty. You mention in your message to “take a stand for righteous”. When we do so, this same verse says essentially the same “their righteousness is of me saith the Lord.”–That stance becomes the Lord’s stance.

  11. I just commented but I thought one more comment might be in order if I may. You quote Ex. 15:3 “The Lord is a man of war…” Great O.T. reference, The N.T. equivalent of that for me is Rev. 6:16 “And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:”–There is definitely that side of the Lord’s nature. we don’t often equate Jesus with ‘the wrath of the Lamb.’ I think we’ve tended to have it so easy compared to Christians in other parts of the world and there has been such an emphasis on sweet- Jesus type of preaching (and don’t get me wrong, he is all that and more) that we’ve forgotten this other aspect of the Lord.
