As we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. (2 Corinthians 4:17 ESV)
We often determine heaven’s response to our prophecies and prayers by what manifests right in front of us. But, the Lord wants to remind us that there are other storylines or “realities” that are taking place concurrently. These storylines are all very real and tangible, and heaven is letting us know that much that has been prophesied and declared over this nation is already taking place! If we don’t see it, we just have to know where to look.
First, there’s the storyline that is easy. It’s what we read in the papers, see on the internet, and follow on our social media accounts. It’s the rumors, propaganda, and mixed information that daily bombards our senses, yelling at us to look and listen. We don’t even have to try to look. It’s just there. Unfortunately, much of what we are seeing in this storyline is either manipulated, misleading, or a smokescreen for something else. Because of the massive amounts of disinformation and the spirit of deception at work, this storyline has caused confusion, frustration, and even disappointment for many who have wondered if God has even heard our cries for intervention.
But then there’s the second storyline. That’s the reality that is taking place behind the scenes. It includes things that are kept secret, hidden, and unseen by the public eye. It includes things that are taking place, even now, from both good and bad actors, happening behind closed doors, in secret passageways, and in strategic briefings. Whether for our destruction, or for our safety, there are things taking place right now that we don’t even know about. This, too, is playing out in real time with real people.
Then, there’s the third storyline and reality. That’s the spiritual warfare taking place in the unseen realms of the spirit. It’s the battle between angels and demons, good and evil. It’s here that our prayers, proclamations, and prophecies FIRST take root. It’s in this third reality in the heavenly realms that our prophetic declarations of victory are being determined and released!
Arise, O Lord! Let not man prevail; let the nations be judged before you! Put them in fear, O Lord!
Let the nations know that they are but me. (Psalm 9:19-20 ESV)
All three of these storylines are happening – now. They are all very real, even if not all are visible. Holy Spirit is calling each of us to dig a little deeper and look a little higher in order to see how heaven has been – and still is – moving swiftly on our behalf! We cannot get fixated on what is right in front of us. We cannot determine the power of our prayers or the veracity of our prophecies by what we see with our natural eyes! Know that there are things in HIDDEN PLACES that are BEING IMPACTED by the word of the Lord! Proclamations concerning the virus, the election, and the dark underworld of trafficking, have all been dramatically shifted because the saints have agreed and stood on the orders given from above.

We must know that those words spoken from the mouth of the Lord over the destiny of this nation have been activated in the spirit. Some, if not many, have even been fulfilled. We just don’t see them in our first storyline, yet. There are things happening behind the scenes that are a direct result of the prophetic words spoken and our declarations of victory. We may not see them, but they aren’t any less powerful. Heaven is on the move and our voices have been charging the hosts and tipping the scales in the spirit for a long time.
Enemies have been defeated, cases have been won, and perpetrators have been brought to justice. Souls have been saved, children have been rescued, and leaders have been activated. These are all things that are happening if you but look past the smokescreens and believe the good news that is there. And for those things that are still being hidden, heaven’s wisdom is directing the steps.
In the early days of Jesus’ ministry, He performed some incredible miracles. He opened blind eyes and caused the lame to walk. And yet, He told these people to keep it a secret. Instead of shouting it from the rooftops as proof of His Sonship, He purposely kept it hidden from the public. Why? Because He knew He was not there as a Healer, a Great Teacher, or even a Miracle Worker. His mission was MUCH LARGER. He knew these things had to be hidden for a time until the people were ready for the greater reveal to come.
And as they were coming down the mountain, He charged them to tell no one what they had seen, until the Son of Man had risen from the dead. (Mark 9:9)
As the people of God, we have been contending for a victory that is life-altering and history-changing. We have not been taking a stand for a man, a party, a cause, or even a nation. We are standing in faith for an overturning of wicked agendas that have played out for generations across the earth. We are praying for good to prevail and evil to be thwarted. We are prophesying for God’s plans to succeed and the devil’s to fail. The mission we are currently engaged in is much higher and grander than anyone realizes. And it’s worth the weight of the burden and the wait for the finale.
The gravity and epic nature of this miracle we are walking through was anticipated long before now. Just as Jesus knew His mission before He revealed Himself, so all of heaven already knows the end to all these storylines. And they all end the same. In absolute victory! His master hand is coordinating each of these storylines and bringing all things to completion with perfect alignment. There is a soon coming time of CONVERGENCE when these storylines will come together and things that are seen AND UNSEEN will come into the light and the Spirit of Truth will prevail.
Continue to pray and prophesy as led by the Lord! Do not wait to see it in the natural before believing in God’s plan to bring freedom to the captives and liberty to the oppressed. Know that His words will not return void, and His people SHALL receive their inheritance on the earth.
Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. (Romans 8:24)
