Yesterday, October 4, there was a major shutdown of Facebook and many other major social media platforms, in addition to other high-profile corporations and companies. It started mid-morning and escalated throughout the day. So far, it looks like most of the sites are back up and running. It’s probably too soon to tell exactly what happened, but the fact that it did – put everyone on notice. Communication blackouts are happening. They’ve already been happening in other parts of the world. The question is – will they happen again, and on a larger scale, for a longer period of time?
Numerous prophetic words have been given in the last year about blackouts coming, some prophets describing them as “Ten Days of Darkness.” I recently shared the word the Lord gave me in 2019, “Holy Spirit is resetting the power grid.” These words of a Divine Reset will most certainly bring major upheaval and change, first in the spirit, but then also in the natural. We are in the midst of an epic transformative shift on the earth, and we shouldn’t be surprised to see the power grids of men impacted by the power surges of heaven. Even so, our prayers of intercession can avert the worst of any scenario and help prepare the way for a redemptive work of heaven.
Given this reality, many have been asking, “How do we prepare?” Though our first priority must be our spiritual response and attending to the condition of our hearts, we should also be considering our preparations in the natural. I would like to suggest several things to consider as we continue to watch, pray, and prepare:
WALK IN HOPE INSTEAD OF DOUBTING IN THE DARK
If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night,” even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with you. (Psalm 139:11-12 ESV)
Regardless of how or when a time of darkness comes, know that the Lord is right in the middle of it. He told Solomon that He dwells deep within the darkness (1 Kings 8:12). The Lord’s promise to bring judgment upon His enemies and justice to the weak may require for us to “be in the dark” for a time, but we can be assured that He is performing His Word and accomplishing it to the fullest.
For there shall be power outages in unique places. Do not fear when this takes place, for God says, “When the lights come back on, you shall see in those places there shall be those that sat in darkness [that] shall see a light of a different kind, for they shall be awakened.” (Prophet Hank Kunneman, January 14, 2020)
PLAN AHEAD INSTEAD OF PANICKING IN THE MOMENT
The wise store up choice food and olive oil, but fools gulp theirs down. (Proverbs 21:20 NIV)
Even apart from a prophetic word, wisdom says to plan ahead for a rainy day. Assuring your family’s well-being in the case of any unexpected crisis demonstrates both foresight and common sense. There are many helps online to give you a checklist of things to have on hand in the case of an emergency: Preparing for Blackouts and How to Prepare You and Your Family for a Blackout can provide some basic directives for planning ahead. This includes not only having food and water on hand, but having proper lighting, heating, cooling, and other basic living needs prepared and ready to go. If cell service is cut off, a discussion with loved ones ahead of time can help determine a plan to reconnect and check in with each other. Decide what the priorities are and work together in making the preparations that will give the family a sense of security and readiness.
EXERCISE FAITH INSTEAD OF GUESSING THE PLAN
According to your faith let it be done to you. (Matthew 9:29 ESV)
How long you plan ahead for will be determined by your own particular needs, your level of confidence in the information available, and your own peace of mind. Even with various prophets indicating a certain length of time (ten days), this is ultimately a faith journey, not a prophetic one. It’s not our ability to interpret prophetic words that is being tested, but the strength of our faith in a supernatural God. What do you have faith for? Do you believe the Lord will provide for you in a future unknown – even in miraculous ways? The decisions made shouldn’t be a guessing game, but according to your faith.
For some, planning for three to five days without power may seem good enough to get past an initial emergency. For others, preparing for ten days may provide the greatest peace of mind. Still others may choose to go above and beyond what’s necessary in order to help others around them and be generous in a time of need. Prayerfully consider what the Lord is giving you faith for – and then follow His lead.
THRIVE instead of SURVIVE!
He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might He increases strength. (Isaiah 40:29 ESV)
How we experience any time of darkness is largely determined by our attitude. We can either be a victim OF it, or a victor THROUGH it. Rather than simply surviving these tests of endurance and hoping to make it out unscathed, we can determine to thrive in the midst of any trial! Our God is the Righteous Judge who is accomplishing His Word and teaching us to rule in the midst of our enemies! In the heat of these battles, the Captain of the Hosts is leading His army into victory over our adversaries and is bringing His recompense with Him!
He has not forgotten this nation – nor any other nation who seeks His face. He has been preparing for this monumental time of Reckoning for a long time. He has chosen you and I to be a part of history in the making and to experience, first-hand, a Greater Glory to come! The night may last for a moment, but joy is coming in the morning!

Caleb, I pray the Lord Jesus reveals Himself to you and leads you to His cross. Jesus loves you and died for you.
God bless! ✝️
Today (October 5, 2021), we visited a doctor we see. The nurse reported that their computer system went down and was not restored until 10 AM. She told us almost nothing could be done without access to the patient records. The nursing staff had to search for paper records, and to write orders on actual paper when they succeeded to find the desired folders. I could not help but think about what Wanda has said. Thanks and God bless you for your faithful ministry.
Wanda, I know you know this – you are being attacked. The more attacks, the more obvious it is that Satan is throwing one heck of a howling temper tantrum. In Jesus’ name you will back off, devils!! Amen.
Thank you, Mary. I was just notified on the comments and removed them. Prayers appreciated!
Satan…GET BEHIND US YOU FOUL DEVIL WHO WAS REJECTED BY GOD!!
Saying HI for the person reading this thinking of using multiple accounts to bash Wanda. May God have mercy on you coming after a true prophet like that.
I love this USA but the corruption is so bad. I hope that we are not Babylon but it all fits in revelation 18:1 thru 19:4 .I am not saying USA is this Babylon just read and have an open mind. I think the next thing in history that would take place is a blackout of the USA and then we would be weakened and could be taken out in one hour. I am only writing this so if we go black please make sure Jesus has been living in you and guiding you everyday. Jesus is the only way to the Father please have mercy on me for all my sins and thank you for Wanda Alger. I like Wanda’s unravelling of the future better than Revelation 18:1 to 19:4 but we can prepare for both ways no harm. In Revelation 18:23 at the end of the verse it says because all the heathens were deceived by your (sorcery) the Greek word translated sorcery is pharmakeia, referring to the use of drugs. The USA would need to be removed so when Israel fights other nations and defeats them only God gets the credit not another nation helping them. I love Jesus (Yeshua) and Wanda is so comforting in these end times thank you for everything may God bless you all so much .
Wanda:
Even the thought of total blackout across all or portions of the United States is chilling. I’m retired Army soldier that takes serious preparation to heart, my wife and I do pray all of the time. from the Scripture 1 John 2 and commentaries are challenges to faith without works, that’s obedience to God’s word.
“Now by this we may be sure that we know him, if we obey his commandments. Whoever says, “I have come to know him,” but does not obey his commandments, is a liar, and in such a person the truth does not exist; but whoever obeys his word, truly in this person the love of God has reached perfection. By this we may be sure that we are in him: whoever says, “I abide in him,” ought to walk just as he walked. (1 John 2:3–6)”
