COULD THIS SPIRITUAL GIANT BE BLOCKING THE BREAKTHROUGHS WE’RE PRAYING FOR?

Many have been watching the Asbury revival unfold in the last two weeks. Online debates about what revival is (or isn’t) has fueled faith for the miraculous as well as doubts concerning its longevity. Everyone seems to have their own definition of “revival” based on their own experiences, stories from church history, scriptural examples, and a myriad of other things. Even as the common denominators are repentance of sin and a hungry heart for authentic encounter, other factors vary greatly. Given this, we should all agree – there’s no formula for revival.

One online commentator noted that this particular revival started at an evangelical Methodist university and not a charismatic church or prophetic conference. This immediately struck my spirit. Knowing the challenges and controversies we Charismatics seem to stir up when it comes to the operation of spiritual gifts and manifestations, God showing up in a “quiet” way on an evangelical campus should get our attention. It should also humble us. It’s a reminder that the Holy Spirit has no preference when it comes to heart hunger, and He refuses to be put in a box of man-made expectations. But, it may also send another message that’s even more critical.

THE WORD AND THE SPIRIT MUST COME TOGETHER

I was reminded of a powerful dream encounter I had in 2019. I met the Trinity in an unexpected way as they declared, “We come together, or not at all!” Appearing as three large eagles, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit spoke in unison as they emerged from the Mountain of the Lord. They were speaking to the Church in how to prepare for this next great outpouring from heaven. The Father was urging us to honor both the Living Word and the Holy Spirit if we were to receive the fullness of what He wants to demonstrate to the world. He will not be limited in how or when He comes based on how many spiritual gifts are flowing or how many scriptures have been memorized. He does not prefer sound doctrine over the gifts of the Spirit, nor does He favor “freedom in the Spirit” over biblical integrity. It’s a package deal. He expresses Himself through the fullness of the Godhead and invites us to open our hearts and minds to all that He is. This latest revival may be a clue in His intention to move outside of familiar parameters in order to break new ground.

When the new church phase is on the wane, there will be evidenced in the churches something that has not been seen before: a coming together of those with an emphasis on the Word and those with an emphasis on the Spirit. When the Word and the Spirit come together, there will be the biggest movement of the Holy Spirit that the nation, and indeed the world, has ever seen.

THE UNEXPECTED GIANT IN THE WAY

As I was pondering this reality, the Lord gave me a brief vision while in corporate worship. We were singing a song about taking out the giants in the land. I immediately had a birdseye view of this nation and saw the Champion of Hosts and His army positioned to the side, ready to move with great power upon this nation. But, even as I saw the fire in His eyes, eager to accomplish this mission, I saw Him looking intently at a huge giant standing in the way. I knew it was a massive spiritual stronghold in the land that was preventing the Lord from doing everything He wanted.

When I asked the Lord what it was, without hesitation He said, “Unbelief! A spirit of Unbelief is blocking the way!” Knowing that He could easily bypass this giant if He wanted to, I also knew that the protocols of heaven were in play. He looks for our agreement on the earth so that He can fully establish Kingdom realities long-term (Matthew 16:19). And though I wasn’t surprised that this was the giant challenging this next move, I was surprised as to what was fueling it. He said, “The Church! It’s My Church that is allowing this giant to stand!”

WHERE IS OUR FAITH?

We have already witnessed massive amounts of blindness, apathy, and even outright denial concerning the demonic globalist agendas overtaking us around the world. Unbelief has poisoned our minds and programmed many to believe “all is well,” when in fact our lives and liberties are being systematically destroyed one after another. The Ecclesia of God, the spiritually authorized ambassadors of heaven on the earth, should have the leverage in this war. We should be the ones calling out these lies and leading people to The Way, The Truth, and The Life.

Unfortunately, we too have been blinded by this spirit of unbelief. Seeing the logs in one another’s eyes, we disbelieve those who think differently than us and dare to challenge our sacred cows. By clinging to our own perspectives, experiences, and personal biases, we are unknowingly fueling this stronghold of unbelief and limiting our authority for breakthrough. But can’t we just bind this spirit and rebuke its presence? If only it were that easy. The reality is, this giant must not only be taken out, but replaced by something better – the choice to BELIEVE.

I tell you, He will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on earth?

We cannot underestimate the power and authority of our faith. Jesus could not do miracles in His own hometown because of their unbelief (Matthew 13:58). It seems this stronghold has plagued us from the very start. We’d like to think our carefully crafted doctrines and supernatural experiences would make us experts in who He is and how He operates. And yet, we cripple ourselves out of fear of the unknown. That which we are unfamiliar with or feel threatened by can become roadblocks to faith. That which we do not understand, we dismiss – or worse yet – disqualify. In our sincere efforts to do everything right we can ultimately shut God out. The One who dwells beyond time, space, and human comprehension can become irrelevant in our quest to prove our own version of reality.

If this is true, then the only right response is for each of us to ask how we might be feeding unbelief in our own lives. Do we entertain this stronghold through doubts, critical attitudes, or disbelief in that which we don’t understand? Are we stubborn or unwilling to process new perspectives and possibilities that might force us to change? Are there ways in which we can better feed our faith in the Three-In-One who desires to reveal Himself in ways we never imagined?

I encourage you to consider these questions so that we can displace this giant of Unbelief. We are the watchmen in this nation and the gatekeepers to His glory. Let’s determine to overcome our doubts and unbelief in favor of faith for the improbable and expectation for the impossible. It is only then that this giant can be taken down so we can fling wide the gates so that the King of Glory may come in.

Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD, strong and mighty, the LORD, mighty in battle!

  1. Wow Wanda I so resonate with this word!! I love how you spoke of stewarding both word and spirit. I believe as we leave the church age to enter kingdom age, this new move of God has deep transformational “inward parts” healing. It’s been the cry of my heart after my own deep childhood trauma recovery to find both a language and vision to understand the inner workings of sanctification. There is a supernatural glory now in the church that will bring faithful recompense for the deep suffering, which church leaders haven’t stewarded well, but Jesus our head will, as well as those He can trust will carry it’s anointing. It’s a work of those two virtues Jesus embodied; grace and truth that represent heart and mind of the believer. I see a triangle of light that depicts how the pentudating of grace and truth has matured in the remnant. We are at the top of this trangle and He made those crooked places straight in our physical temples. It’s like a spiritually mature laser light, no longer an immature spotlight that babes require. As we are at the tip of this triangle, I see another inverted triangle of heavenly light, and the Breaker is leading our crossing over. This yoke breaking anointing is carrying kingdom glory that the mature one’s will steward. When the two triangles of light come into complete oneness, it is the Star of David!! It’s the resoration of all things! Two have become one!! Face to face reflection of every opposite that brings total freedom in our being! There is a whole teaching I’ve been working on but I don’t trust it to just anyone. I thought you’d be able to connect with it. I’m careful to steward it and have been a hidden one until He connects me with the right people. I would cherish the opportunity to hear from you on this comment. I so appreciate your gift to the Body of Christ! As One, Christine

Love this Wanda. MARIO MURILLO PROPHETIC WORD: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYawGHoOhBE&t=29s

NOT only Asbury but Mario is part of the prophetic word. When I asked the Lord what it was, without hesitation He said, “Unbelief! A spirit of Unbelief is blocking the way!”

Still I am working on getting Telegram to litt the BAN from ME.

  3. Your vision of a “spirit of unbelief” was exactly what came to me as I watched Mike Thompson on Sunday. I heard Derek Prince speak of this and really didn’t understand that this could be a spirit. That Jesus saw it as a Giant, a major issue, within the church is tragic.

  4. The gift of the Holy Spirit opens your eyes and mind to understanding the Scriptures. If you are chosen and accept that gift from The Lord God, you will grow in the Spirit and receive Inspiration, Wisdom, Protection, and The Love of God The Father and Jesus The Messiah. Shalom

  5. Hello Wanda, This was an excellent and timely word I can relate to. I was speaking with my son about the Asbury revival and wondering if this was a genuine move of GOD and if it would amount to anything or be like so many in the past. My son said “did you know Asbury is a very woke college?”. What? How can GOD possibly be moving there, they are woke. Funny how that fits right in to what you spoke about, the giant of unbelief. How can GOD possibly be at work in a woke college. Funny and tragic at the same time.

  6. I think unbelief comes from un-answered prayers. If prayers were answered, where would unbelief even come from to be a problem?
