This is a word for some of you who are weary of keeping up “the good fight.” You’ve been in a constant survival mode and feeling depleted of any spiritual grit or passion. You’re beginning to wonder what you’re doing wrong. Perhaps you’ve thought you need to pray more, fast more, or discover some new strategy for combatting the endless attacks against your health and well-being. You’ve probably entertained feelings of failure and even wondered if you’re disappointing God because of your seeming inability to overcome the distractions and setbacks.
But, instead of beating yourself up for not being more spiritually mature or zealous in the fight, take another look. Consider another perspective. Consider the power you carry when you simply determine to not back down from what God has already said. It may not be about doing more, but actually less. Consider the possibility that instead of losing a battle, you are actually winning one.
Welcome to the Season of Standing.
I believe many are in this season right now. A time when the Lord is teaching us about endurance. About the power of simply standing and not bending to opposing forces. About breaking through and winning the battle because we simply won’t yield. And it’s not because we fight well. It’s because we stand well.
When we read in Ephesians 6:13 “…having done all, stand…” this is not some last-ditch effort to simply hang on. It’s not some last resort in our battle strategy; plan C for those who just don’t have the spiritual nerve or muscle to keep wielding their swords against enemy forces. I don’t think that’s what God had in mind – because He knows something that we don’t. He knows the inherent strength of endurance. He knows the increased authority we gain in the spirit when we refuse to step back from His promise and simply STAND FIRM.
Endurance is not for the faint of heart. Endurance is a powerful weapon against the enemy when we embrace it’s invitation. Remember – if the enemy can’t immobilize us through fear, he’ll just try to wear us out. Hoping to siphon out every last ounce of hope and promise, he’ll throw endless curve balls to make us second guess God’s word and promise. He’ll turn up the volume of lies and threats, and drain us of all our energy and support. He’ll do ANYTHING to make us give up and give in. Just don’t let him.
But the Lord God helps me; therefore I have not been disgraced; therefore I have set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be put to shame. (Isaiah 50:7 ESV)
Instead of using up your reserve power to dodge enemy fire or look for new solutions, the Lord would simply have you hold your ground. Do not budge from your position of faith. If He’s already spoken, stand on His word. Don’t change your mind and don’t cave in to the pressure. Don’t waste time worrying about the unexpected twists and turns from enemy forces. Set your face like a flint and refuse to cave in to the unending storms. As you stand firm and endure to the finish you will become an immovable fortress against your enemies and a victor in the making. Your roots of faith will go even deeper into the soil of your future, preparing the way for a Breaker’s Reward!
Our greatest setbacks and challenges often come right before our biggest breakthroughs. Determine that you are a Breaker. Embrace this season of standing and look for the reward to come
By your endurance you will gain your lives.
Luke 21:19 ESV

I needed to read this today!! Every word! Thank you so much.
Me too.
I saved it to my phone Home Screen, so when the winds pick up again, I’ll have it in the moment. 🙏
On Monday July 1st our Canada Day I had been hearing a whisper of ‘speak to the dry bones’ so I went to the obvious Ezekiel 37:11 only to notice ‘He said to Ezekiel the dry bones are the WHOLE house of Israel who are saying our bones are dry our hope is lost and we are cut off. Therefore prophesy …I will put My Spirit in you and you shall live and you will know I AM the LORD who has spoken and performed it” ‘ Prophesy O Breath and Breathe on these slain that they may live’ as in Genesis – to bring to life, and inferred ‘ to hope again.’ When I looked up ‘resurrection’ in Acts 23:6 it is “anastasis’ Strongs #386 A STANDING UP AGAIN, RESTORATION TO LIFE, a compound of ‘ana’, ‘again’ and ‘histemi’ which is ‘TO STAND’…when the Sadducee’s confronted Jesus regarding resurrection that they could not see in the Torah, Jesus said in Matthew 22:31,32 ‘have you not read what was spoken to you by God saying ‘I am the God of Abraham Issac and Jacob’ in Exodus 3:6 who had been dead so evidently there is a STANDING AGAIN, coming to life again, as He is the God of the living”. We have been resurrected new creatures by the LIFE OF GOD BREATHED INTO US, WE LIVE BY HIS SPIRIT IN US, Ezekiel 36:27….we are now doing all TO STAND…RESURRECT! That was my train of thought confirmed to me by your word to STAND.
Excellent!
Thank you for a great word, Wanda! When I saw that picture of the tree in a storm, it reminded me of a dream I had back in 2020. I was in a terrible storm, and there were tornados that came one right after another at me. In my dream I am rebuking one, then another, then another, and telling them to go back up into the sky. My dream ended and for a while I just thought there would be a lot of storms and then they would end. But the storms never ended in the dream, and neither have they yet, in real life. Now I know what I must do, and that is STAND, having done all STAND. Yes, I am weary from the storms, but thank you for your encouraging word to help me continue to stand!
Wonderful word, Ms. Wanda! Thank you so much for sharing, and encouraging us in The Lord!
So encouraging, Wanda. This is definitely a “now” word with so many of weary from battle, but not wanting to give up. Exodus 14 comes to mind, when the children of Israel are weary from travel and terrified of Pharoah’s approaching army. Backed into a corner, Moses tells the people to “stand still (firm) and witness the salvation of the Lord.” We are there now and God will not disappoint us. His arm is not too short to rescue us and give us victory. Hallelujah!
Thank you. Trees grow against gravity. So do we. Trees just point to the “sun” and their roots grow deeper as the wind blows against them. So do Christians.
This is exactly what I needed to hear today .
Exactly the conversation I had with my husband this morning. I will not use my resources on the enemies attacks. Stand was the word God gave me in February last year for a personal journey, and it hasn’t changed and it applies to what’s going on in the world at large. Those verses have kept me going a lot longer than I would have in the past. Thanks Wanda, God bless you bunches!
Amen! Thank you Wanda! I shall see you in Lehr! I am so excited and looking forward to amazing things!
I really needed to hear this today.
Wanda, THANK YOU for this Powerful, Encouraging Word.
I may have some battle fatigue but I AM STANDING! Mrs. Wanda, you give us just what we need to hear to keep running the race.
I’m so grateful for this encouragement. Thank you.
