For those who have been grieved at the recent changes in the Republican Party platform now allowing some forms of abortion and same-sex marriage, and concerned at the lack of clear biblical morality in politics, I hear a reality check from heaven…
“That’s the Church’s job!”
In past years we have rightly prayed for a political party to take a solid biblical stand concerning some core foundational issues. We have rightly called for the laws of our nation to reflect moral and sacred values. We have done well to demand our representatives listen to the people and not just their financial backers. And yet, the Lord would have us step back from our frustration at the lack of morality in politics and take some ownership in the problem. We need to remember who is ultimately responsible for providing direction in morals, values, and that which is sacred and true.
“That’s the Church’s job!”
This is what I heard when considering the challenge before us. We may point fingers of blame at various politicians and even presidents both past and present, but ultimately the finger needs to point back to us. The Church. The Body of Christ. The Ekklesia. For it is not the laws of a nation that will determine the morality of a people, but the beliefs and convictions within the hearts and souls of its citizens. And those beliefs and convictions can only become established when taught and proclaimed from America’s pulpits.
Without church leaders consistently preaching and teaching sound biblical values instead of giving compromised and self-serving Ted Talks from the stage, people will never find the truth. Without pastors being bold enough to address today’s hot button issues from a strong biblical foundation, counterfeits and twisted lies will devour the next generation by default. Without leadership from those anointed and appointed pastors and teachers within the Ekklesia to guide and direct God’s purpose for this nation, it is foolish to think our government and those leading it will ever change.
"Go!" said the Lord. "This man is My chosen instrument to carry My name before the Gentiles and their kings, and before the people of Israel.”
Acts 9:15 ESV
The message of the gospel is not just the salvation of souls, but a reformation of hearts and lives within cultures and people groups. The only entity that can cut through the clamor of the culture and direct people to righteousness is the Church, the Ekklesia of God. And yet, the trend among woke pastors and celebrity ministers has been to avoid such messages that may divide their following or tarnish their popularity. The result has been immorality being legislated from our courts and perversity celebrated within our institutions. Because of silence from the pulpits, political agents are calling the shots and demanding submission from the masses. The Church needs to not only wake up, but step up.
It’s time to start preaching on the sanctity of life and God’s original design. It’s time to give instruction in discerning party platforms and ideologies from a sound biblical worldview, and empowering the people to be a voice to the culture. It’s time to address perversity being promoted within schools and lawlessness being allowed on campuses and in the public square. And it’s time to take a stand on matters of purity and faith, not from a religious spirit, but with a zeal and passion from the heart of God.
We should know by now that no political party is going to steer us towards holiness. Nor is any political candidate going to instruct us on biblical values. Because that’s not their job. That’s the Church’s job.
Politics is not the problem. Politicians are merely the fruit of a culture fed on self-indulgence, fleshly control, and earthly systems gone rogue. The true change agents of this nation will not come from any political platform, but from the pulpits of the righteous who dare challenge both doctrines of demons and strongholds of men.
But now revealed and made known through the writings of the prophets by the command of the eternal God, in order to lead all nations to the obedience that comes from faith.
Romans 16:26 BSB

AMEN! Preach it Wanda! It’s our job to be the reformers of society so we can bring the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven! Habakkuk 2:14
FIRE from the HEART OF GOD, COME!!!
I agree. Amen!
That’s the Holy Spirit’s job! Way too much infiltration of evil in “the Church”.
Holy Spirit tells the people what to proclaim. Without our voice his prompting stays silent.
I don’t think any of us should be pointing fingers of blame at any politicians OR The Church, or any denominations or any churches or pastors in the USA or in any other countries! Also blaming other people on a personal level or blaming ourselves isn’t really the key to resolving problems and knowing what God actually wants us to do and how to move forward.
So I would like to ban finger pointing and suggest we just consider what we as individuals have been called by God to do and what we can contribute to the Kingdom with out limited talents, abilities, time, life experiences and resources, but with the infinite resources of God, which we somehow have to tap into with His help and guidance.
Matthew 5: 13
Amen and amen if the body took real ownership of these babies, just as if they were their own and stand in the gap and refused that this would be done any more. Mother’s have the real power but it begins by asking and receiving Jesus ‘s heart for His children because that’s where the real ownership/authority lies
Thank you for wise, sound advice! Also, challenging us to be discerning within the church leadership. I just read Mark Taylor’s recent prophetic word from the Lord which addresses some of these issues. Your message confirms that God is more concerned about His church right now being His light, than what is going on politically in our nation.
Yes Wanda I need more of God to speak truth with the intention of helping my brother or sister change and be healed from compromising their biblical standing in the Lord.
Praise God for hope, truth and love found in Him.
As a steward of his eternal purpose, be used by God to demonstrate his manifold wisdom to principalities and powers.
Grounded in love, be empowered by the Spirit to seize (and live out) the full dimensions of his love.
Ephesians 3, verses 8-11 and 16-19
The events we see in the nation and the world are meant to wake the Ecclesia up. There is a growing remnant in the Body of Christ who are interceding for our country and millions of intercessors around the world who are declaring, “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven,” In a profound way, Ephesians 5:32 is being revealed- “The mystery of Christ and the Ecclesia”. As we have begun to see our identity as Christ’s Body on the earth and that we have a responsibility just as Adam had to take dominion, subdue, and multiply, the Army of God is growing stronger. Wanda Alger is a voice speaking the call to the Ecclesia to wake up, and stand up, and as Trump declared, “Fight! Fight! Fight!”
Thank you so much for this. It brought me to tears for the joy of the truth in it. And for the sadness of the truth in it.
Well said, Wanda Alger! Our best evangelical efforts may be one on one and our personal lives DOING THE WORD OF GOD, NOT JUST READING IT! We all pray for this every morning when we wake up. What, O LORD, would you have me do to today with the 24 hours ahead of me? Praise the Lord!!!!!
