PROVISION AND PROTECTION ARE IN THE COVENANT

Increased chaos is bound to erupt in the coming days as forces aligned against the will of the people seek to maintain control over this nation. Predictions are circulating about unrest after the election and possible martial law. Democratic leaders have already hinted at plans for stopping any favorable outcome for the people’s president. Many are hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst.

Thankfully, there is a lifeline for those who follow Christ. For those who understand the power of our covenant with God, there is a spiritual form of “diplomatic immunity” that can guard us against any destructive plots or schemes of our enemies.

And if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all His
commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth…The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you. They shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. (Deuteronomy 28:1-8)

Throughout the Old Testament, God continually told His people that He would provide for their needs and protect them from their enemies, as long as they obeyed His commands. The early church continued to see the promise of His covenant at work. They thrived in the midst of opposition because they followed God’s laws, honored His Word, and stood together. Not only did they see supernatural protection and provision in the midst of oppressive rule – the gospel of the Kingdom expanded exponentially (Acts 2:42-47).

Yet, God also states that for those who choose to disregard His laws and disobey His Word, there will be severe consequences.

But if you will not obey the voice of the Lord your God or be careful to do all His commandments and His statutes that I command you today, then all these curses shall come upon you and overtake you. (Deuteronomy 28:15)

This warning is not some outdated Old Testament law, but a present-day Kingdom reality. God is a covenant making God who promises to look after all who call upon His name and follow His laws. To receive the benefits of God’s provision and protection, He simply asks us to honor His Word, obey His commands, and refuse alliance with any people or practice that disregards His ways.

In this volatile election, everyone will make a choice. Some will make the wrong choice and side with those who stand for everything God hates. Others will choose to sit on the sidelines thinking their inactivity has some kind of innate power to change things. Unfortunately, this deception will only weaken our collective authority and open the way for greater enemy interference and advancement. The stark reality is that neither of these choices honor or defend God’s covenant. Neither of these choices qualify us for His provision, protection, or blessing.

We must make the right choice to take a stand and defend God’s laws at work in this nation. For those who choose rightly, He will send all of heaven to back us up with full provision for everything we need and full protection from everything that is set against us. His covenant not only assures us of His presence and power, but blessings that will endure for generations.

Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love Him and keep His commandments, to a thousand generations, and repays to their face those who hate Him, by destroying them. (Deuteronomy 7:9-10)

  1. Hi Wanda – Donna Rigney recently had a word that the chaos that will erupt after the election will be short lived, God will squelch it – in the nean time, children of The Most High will be celebrating, many many celebrations taking place.

  2. Both sides in politics fall short in terms of aligning with Jesus. There is no “Godly” party. One supports the life of the unborn while neglecting the poor, immigrant, and marginalized. While the other does the opposite. Please remember that all people are made in the image of God and are deeply loved. Don’t allow politics to warp your view of people
