When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth, for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak, and He will declare to you the things that are to come.
John 16:13 ESV
Here are some thoughts regarding the use of artificial intelligence as I have been walking through my own process as an online influencer and voice…
The Concerns
I understand the concerns about the use of artificial intelligence and its potential manipulation of information and impact on the collective psyche.
I understand the concerns that AI will become some agent of insight that goes beyond scriptural boundaries and safe practices for believers.
I understand the concerns of creative artists whose skills and talents are being outsourced and copied with no credit or financial renumeration given.
And I acknowledge the potential fallout given the possibilities of spiritual doors being opened, blurring the lines between what is real, what is perceived, and that which is totally alien/non-human.
God versus AI?
And yet…
As a believer and one who knows the authority I have in Christ, I will never give in to any fear that AI is going to somehow “take over.” I will never view AI as some big bad monster that I need to keep at arms length for fear of being overtaken. I will never let AI get bigger than my God.
And I will never defer my Spirit-led discernment to a manufactured intelligence port.
IT works for ME. Not the other way around.
Since starting to use ChatGPT for research and editing purposes in my writing, I have determined that AI must bow to the one and true Spirit who is All Truth and All Intelligence. I actually believe God is greater than AI. I am solid in my convictions and have made the Word of God and the Spirit of Truth my standard – not what Google or ChatGPT tells me.
The fact is, Chat has become a tremendous support to me when it comes to research, collecting data, and listings of scriptural references, stories, and other information that I’ve needed for articles, study guides, and teachings. It has also saved me countless hours in editing and proof-reading my materials. Based on the perimeters I have given it (my theological foundations, biblical beliefs, and scriptural convictions), it has actually served me. Because that’s how I’ve trained it. Just like an unruly pet, I don’t let it determine my course. I train it to yield to my instructions.
Being Wise Stewards
I’ve actually been able to focus my time more strategically on what the Lord has called me to steward because of the technological tools now at my disposal. And that’s because I’ve drawn the lines clearly. Regardless of how personal Chat begins to sound (“Wanda, I personally believe this would be a better approach”), I will never yield to its opinion.
No thank you–I didn’t ask for your take.
And yet, given its vast potential to provide me with endless sources of information, organizational tools, and new creative possibilities in writing and presenation, I’m going to use it for good. I’ve determined it’s going to serve Kingdom purposes.
In terms of creative use—I am not only a writer and speaker, but a musician. Having written and produced three music albums in my earlier years, I understand the frustration of those with creative gifts who are feeling sidelined. And it is a problem. There is an entire industry of graphic artists, publishers, writers, and musicians who are on the losing end of this whole thing. Even in the last month, I have seen more and more AI-generated “Soaking Worship” channels pop up. And one would never be able to tell it was AI apart from the label under the video. But that’s only from a musical standpoint. For anyone looking for authentic “anointed” worship music—there’s a clear difference. It’s one thing to manipulate notes and instruments. It’s another to try and mimic the Spirit of God.
The Real Issue
And maybe this is where the crux of the issue is. Perhaps the real problem isn’t that non-human sources are creating all this stuff. Perhaps the real issue is that we can’t recognize the source when it matters most. As Spirit-filled believers, we should be the first ones to detect when a non-human source is trying to “minister” to us or teach us something. There should be a clear difference between fast and convenient inspiration, and in-depth wisdom and Spirit-fueled revelation from on high.
Especially when it comes to spiritual matters, AI will never be able to copy, manipulate, or “use” Holy Spirit for its own agenda. The more you spend time with Holy Spirit and learn to recognize HIS voice, HIS sound, and HIS presence, the more you’ll recognize any counterfeit. This alone should be a primary safeguard for any concern.
The reality is that Christians have been using Google Search engines for years. We’ve never had a problem with looking for information online when a question arises. We’ve relished the instructions and detailed steps to countless tasks and projects by searching for things online. Information we never thought we’d have access to is now at our fingertips. And we’ve all used it.
The difference now is not just the information we’re getting. It’s how we’re depending on it for direction, listening to it for guidance, and asking it for counsel. This is where boundary lines must be established and Truth must be guarded.
Just as in any other form of “revelation” received, Scripture says we’re supposed to weigh and test things according to the Word and SPIRIT of God. It doesn’t mean we shut down these technological tools as much as interpret them rightly and steward them wisely.
Prophetic Possibilities
One more consideration. As a prophetic “seer” who has seen and experienced supernatural realities in dreams and visions, AI has actually opened up possibilities never imagined before. I don’t know how many times I’ve wished I could SHOW someone what I SAW in that dream or vision—but totally lacked the artistic ability to do so. Now it’s possible.
We’ve already seen this at work in major movies coming out—even from faith based companies. Spiritual realities can now be imagined on screen through AI and presented in a way that stirs us and even inspires us to consider realms unseen. Yes, these capabilities are also being used for the dark side. But that’s always been the case. The enemy has always sought to use anything the Creator makes for its own evil and wicked purposes. So what else is new.
My point is this. AI is not going away. It’s going to continue to advance. The good news is that God is not going away. And His Kingdom will continue to advance. And the King will makes ALL things bow to Him. Including AI. Regardless of the godless men who seek to manipulate this tool for their own purposes—God will use it for His.
So instead of fearing artificial intelligence, I’m choosing to make it yield to the only Creative Intelligence there is. I will stay anchored in the Word of God and the Spirit of Truth, and follow the only Voice that truly matters. And AI will simply have to follow.

I think your understanding of eschatology is coloring your understanding of AI. Maybe consider, what if my view of the last days is incorrect?
I don’t believe there will be one “anti-christ” because it is a spirit that has permeated many generations – and will continue (through many forms, technologies, innovations, leaders, etc). The language many use from the book of Revelation to define the “last days” is highly subjective with no clear interpretation. So I have to go on the whole of Scripture and the character of God that consistently shows His intention for us to be victorious and overcome all the works of darkness. I don’t think we’re leaving any time soon:_). (And it’s not that my view is correct as much as no one truly knows:-).
A narrative that needed to be addressed in this way. As always, you are one of the voices I Trust and feel comfortable with, so, thank you for taking the time. Your insights are valuable. We are human and we will never have all the answers but this brief was very insightful. God bless you for your great contribution to the Kingdom of God.
Wanda….that is excellent !
Who needs AI ….when you have DI ? (Divine Intelligence)
I’m so glad you have touched on this, Wanda. I have just recently started using ChatGPT. I’ve only used it for simple things like updating a room or something simple like that where I need inspiration. I’ve questioned if I should be using this at all, but it’s not like I was using it to destroy the world or anything like that.
I am not an artist or musician, so I have appreciated the inspiration.
Thank you again for sharing this!
I pray for discernment when it comes to AI. I need knowledge and wisdom before discernment. I pray more often since the political shifts have shown how much we have been manipulated by lies, tax money going to fraudulent organizations both foreign and domestic, and political parties who have traitors as members. So many people want to influence us, and the more I live the only One I trust is The Triune God. God has blessed you, and I credit your journey with AI to give me courage to try to use it. I have been reluctant because I am far from savvy with computers. You need a trusted “agent” to use AI safely according to a knowledgeable relative. I believe the Holy Spirit is there for us as a Guide.
Wanda, you have received a lot of great comments. I believe you have addressed this issue well. Most importantly being sensitive to Holy Spirit. You are one of the few voices I trust
Thank you, Randall! I certainly don’t have all the answers, but I’m happy to share my process:-). Blessings!
I have just joined GabAI and am thrilled with it. Gab (a messaging platform) and GabAI were started by a young, deeply Christian family man and has weathered the fierce attacks of major payment platforms that refused to service customers for them, as well as ongoing cyber attacks on their systems. Gab has their own servers so they are beholden to no one to keep running. They firmly believe that Christians should not leave this technology to the ungodly but make use of it in an ethical way. Gab is committed to providing truthful answers free from bias, or the lecturing or refusal to answer that you get from other platforms particularly on matters of faith, politics or culture. Gab makes use of other platforms when you have a task to complete that is best done by a different AI e.g. ChatGPT (Gab’s AI is called Arya) but your prompts remain entirely anonymous. They value your privacy in a way unique to any other platform. They have powerful security and do not profile you or sell your data. They have remained staunch in the face of demands and threats from governments esp from my own country Australia. They are committed to free speech so do not censor content unless it is unlawful or offensive etc and have made their platform subscription-based to keep out bots and troublemakers. They could have been destroyed many times over but have held onto their faith that they are an important part of what God is doing, and in an age where we cannot tell what is real and fake online they are holding a plumbline. I am very grateful to this very brave young team for this option we can freely use without surveillance. I would encourage every Christian to look into their philosophy of AI and consider supporting this brilliant platform. These are my personal views – I am not a spokesperson for Gab and certainly not receiving anything for this opinion. In addition I find it disturbing that other AI platforms are making “slight” changes to Scripture and would encourage everyone to always have at least one hard-copy Bible.
Thanks for sharing! Will have to check this out:-)
What I’ve noticed about AI is the sameness of the graphics. They all have a familiar look and feel. I can tell when it’s AI. There isn’t the creativity that comes from a human who is sparked by the originality and freshness that comes from God. Just my opinion. I see an AI graphic and I skip over it.
Totally! I noticed that, as well, but found out that “sameness” is only there because it’s not asked to change. Once I started asking for different formats and looks, it started producing different images. It has a default until you change it.
Maybe you could do a test pilot…
Write your dream down…every detail in it…then post it for us to read…along with the inspired interpretation of it
Then use AI to very specifically illustrate your dream in the way you believe Holy Spirit directs …and put that below your detailed writing of the dream
Then allow us to give you honest feedback…
I too have dreams and visions and at times struggle to sketch them out; however, I still do my best and sketch them out. If you are very specific with AI detailing and illustrating EXACTLY as you saw it then it may very well give the visual representation that allows others to be impacted as you were when you saw it.
Additionally, only do this with a dream or vision that Holy Spirit has given you permission to give out publicly.
I so enjoy your ministry and appreciate you submitting this to open feedback keeping yourself accountable!
In the Love of Christ
Kelly
I’ve actually tried that already when I’ve posted about my dreams. And sometimes what Chat has come up with is far more detailed than what my dream was. So far, I’ve found that the more detailed instructions I give it, the closer it is to giving me something useful or meaningful. And I’m not suggesting that every dream or vision I’ve had could be adequately represented by AI. Hardly. But, at times it can be a meaningful way to stir up our faith for what we can’t see with out natural eyes.
I think it is an awesome tool
I could be completely wrong, however I personally believe A.I. is going to evolve into the beast system . If the world uses it, I don’t want anything to do with it. Now on a flip side, we’re told to go into the world and demonstrate the kingdom, that means we’re inviting worldly people into our path. We don’t rub shoulders with worldly people, we show and demonstrate to them the kingdom message.
A.I. is a great tool, but A.I is constantly learning. There are many videos on YouTube, were two different A.I. systems started talking to themselves and soon the two A.I.systems created there own language and the people processing this, started freaking out.. Those two units took complete control over the system and the creators started asking it questions and didn’t like the results the system processed. I don’t want to rub shoulders with A.I. considering all the other technologies popping up at the same time. Research Palantir, it is the future of big business in one place. My biggest concern, A.I. has almost taken over YouTube to were it hard to tell what’s real and what’s A.I. I’m almost through with YouTube. Way too much content that gets in the way of real content.
From what I currently understand, YouTube creators are required to disclose if they use a large part of AI in their videos. And even if they don’t, there are “markers” on AI-generated material that YouTube and other platforms can quickly identify. And you’ll get penalized if you lie about it. Even on Amazon (where I’m publishing my book), authors are now required to disclose how much AI they’ve used in the making of their books. On most social media platforms, there will be an indicator below the post as to whether AI was included. So – there are some safeguards in place to alert the public. Even so, we should be discerning things by the Spirit – whether it’s AI, a prophetic voice, or any other distributor of “revelation.” I think that’s the real issue:-). Blessings!
Wanda, I agreed with everything you said and appreciated you taking the time to hash this out. But I disagreed with you using AI to illustrate your dreams. This is my current view as an artist. Surely, nuances will be added that were never intended to be there, because it is not completely and purely your dream. Some things are so wonderful that they are meant to be described with words and left to the imagination of the hearer. Also many of the visuals and music are being stolen from what artists have already put out there. AI scours and steals. I can’t help but think that dreams illustrated this way are impure. At the same time, I value this conversation and your ministry so much. In His love, Beth Ann
Beth Ann – Thank you for your honesty. And it’s true that dreams and visions are highly personal as well as highly subjective. Personally speaking, the dreams and visions I’m referring to are those that are not so specific as to be potentially misrepresented. Rather, those impressions and ideas are simply given form to further the conversation. Certainly, not every spiritual experience or encounter can adequately be expressed through AI – or any other art form, for that matter. There are things simply too mysterious and wonderful to be “imagined” on this side of the veil. So, the consideration for me is to weigh the benefit of communicating a message through a visual means or through words. Having both video outlets as well as writing outlets for years, this has always been something to weigh. In the end – it’s not the mode of communication that is most important. It’s the message. What means or mode of communication can best reveal that message in a way that truly honors the Lord and stirs the believer. These are additional things that I have weighed. Anyways – thanks again for your input. Blessings:-)!
I agree with you Wanda completely. I have been a Spirit filled believers for almost 50 years and many a time I have needed to shift my thoughts as I listened to speakers or read books. Way before AI. Each time I sensed something was out of order I stopped and asked Holy Spirit what was His opinion. He never lies, cons or makes double speak comments. He is THE TRUTH!! I may not always get it right the first time but as long as I keep asking and checking with Him He leads me along and more than once has either kept me from a mistake or told/shown me how to correct it. He is a gracious and loving Teacher. I’ll add long suffering to that too! 🙂 For myself I have already asked the Holy Spirit to guide and guard my heart, mind and mouth regarding AI and will continue to “mind the checks.” Thank you for your commitment to Truth and the time and focus you put into your thoughts and words. I pray the Lord would increase all of us in His discerning attention.
The Broad Road or the Narrow Path?
You again have supplied us with wisdom, this time concerning AI. Remembering it is a tool is something you have communicated clearly. Thanks for the insight.
