Just like Jonah, the modern Church has fallen asleep to her assignment. Just like Jonah, we have dismissed our call and determined to play possum. Where Nineveh needed to hear Jonah’s call for repentance to avoid destruction, so does this nation need to hear the truth from God’s people.
As I continued to pray into these revelations, I then heard the words “code red” and “crucible.” I knew the Lord was letting us know that what lies ahead may be challenging, but carries the promise for His greater glory to be revealed. This is the essence of what I believe the spirit of the Lord is saying to the corporate Church in America in this hour:
False gods and idols of men have become fixtures in His house and they will only lose their influence and power when His people want them to. So, He is going after our hearts – the seat of our desires and passions – the place where our will is fueled. We must trade our hearts for His, and learn what it really means to be a person after His own heart.
Many have been waiting on Me and searching for My voice. Many have been sequestered in their caves looking for a sign of My presence and power in the midst of enemy warfare. I tell you, this day marks the beginning of a new season for this nation. The winds of change have begun to blow.
I see the Lord healing deep places of the soul. Hidden wounds long forgotten and unresolved hurts that have been left untended. There are those who have emotional pain festering in the inner reaches of the heart. Suffering and grief that needs to be released in order to receive the new wine to come.
There has never before been a time in history when we have been so globally connected and aware of
evil and sin. Just as in the days of Noah, the whole earth has been corrupted by the seed of Satan and
poisoned by the enemy’s venom. A prophecy from Enoch foretells these days and provides instruction for prayer…
Given the level of distrust that seems to be growing towards church leaders and corporate offenses rising against the Church, I’ve been getting more emails asking how to know if a pastor can be trusted. Here is my own “short list” of things I would hope to see in any church leader who is living out the biblical standards with a pure heart and clear conscience.
What we are facing in many of today’s Churches is not a lack of seeming fruit or positive messages. What we lack is the guts to work through our weaknesses and failures with honesty and integrity. What we lack is the courage to confront challenging and controversial issues with biblical truth instead of popular opinion.
