YES, GOD STILL SPEAKS THROUGH REVELATION

For those who feel strongly about basing everything on the written Word, what role does “revelation” have in forming our beliefs and practices? Isn’t recorded Scripture enough to determine sound doctrine? How do we receive and understand revelation given by the Holy Spirit? If we have the Word, why do we need further revelation? Let me share the evidence I found that not only proves the power of revelation, but the necessity of it if we are to fulfill our commission…

PURSUING HIS PRESENCE MORE THAN HIS PROPHETS

Why is it that prophetic ministry always comes under such scrutiny? Why do prophetic voices gain so much attention and cause such a stir? What is it about prophecy that causes such controversy on the one hand, and such hunger on the other?

I believe one of the primary reasons is that true prophecy opens the door to the unseen realm. Pure prophetic operation reveals a supernatural God and realities not otherwise experienced or known to our flesh. It is a tangible demonstration that we can hear God’s voice and even know God’s heart. And though most of our understanding of prophecy comes from the New Testament, I find an interesting statement from Moses in the Old Testament that points to a core value of the prophetic.

SACRED COWS AND STRANGE FIRE

The knife that is cutting through His house is no respecter of persons. God does not set aside our favorites. He does not overlook compromise or spiritual corruption to salvage men’s reputations. Nor will allow His anointing to be weaponized by those who only seek the glory for themselves. He is a holy God and NO ONE can touch His glory. No one is above His discipline or correction. And because of the buildup of dung in His pantry, the stench can no longer be tolerated. No prophet or apostle, teacher or pastor, or any other leader in God’s house will escape His cleansing wrath.

AN APPEAL TO THE TEACHERS AND PROPHETS

As much as prophets need to carefully examine their encounters and revelations with scriptural integrity, teachers must view their doctrines through eyes of faith and a personal belief in the supernatural. And as much as the prophetic movement needs to evaluate some of its faith practices and messaging that have gotten off track, so must those who teach be willing to go where their understanding can’t reach and their arguments don’t work. Yes, we need to be grounded in the Word. But without faith in things unseen, we will only be bound to rules that carry no power.

PREVIOUS STUDENTS REVEAL NEEDED REFORMS IN THE CHARISMATIC WORLD

Several of the larger Charismatic ministries in the news recently have schools attached to them. I recently met with a group of millennials who attended some of these ministry schools from 2010 to 2020. And though many past students are reporting negative experiences of compromised leadership and abuse, the millennials I spoke with are all now established within a local church and thriving in their gifts. None of them were aware of the problems that are now coming into the light. But I wanted to know their thoughts. How were they processing these exposures? What did they learn at these schools, and how did their experiences, either positive or negative, shape their current faith? What changes would they suggest for moving forward?

MY CONVERSATION WITH PATRICIA KING ABOUT RECENT EXPOSURES

Patricia King knew Todd Bentley when he first came to the Lord and saw the gifts of the Spirit emerge in his life as he would spend hours in prayer. She saw both the rise and fall of this minister-turned-predator and fills in a lot of gaps about his journey, as well as insight into the current exposures taking place elsewhere. Not only does she provide some missing details concerning abuse in the Church – she carries a clear charge to those now sounding the alarm.

MISPLACED MERCY and MINISTRY

It’s time to cut the soul ties and destroy the idols. We have been praying for a resurgence of the fear of the Lord to the Church. This is how it starts. These exposures cannot be wasted on debates, gossip, and defending false gods. It’s time to lay down our ministries and ask for true Mercy.

A WORD TO THE PROPHETS

The Lord is revealing some traps of the enemy aimed at disqualifying and silencing prophetic voices in this hour. Through a series of dreams in the last two months, the Lord has revealed three of these pitfalls in order for us to avoid them, be on our guard, and pray accordingly.
